Sports Medicine On The Road: Canton Cup Is Underway!
The weekend forecast is calling for high temps and humidity. Be sure to hydrate the night before your game, bring plenty of cool water for in-game hydration. Once your game is over a sports drink can help replenish lost fluids and more importantly the electrolytes lost through sweating. Fresh fruit like bananas, oranges, kiwi and grapes have high levels of vitamins and water content – great for in-between game snacks.

Sports Medicine Begins 5th Year at Canton Cup Soccer Tournament
This year marks the 5th year Oakwood Sports Medicine has been involved with the Canton Cup Memorial Weekend Soccer Tournament. We are proud to work with such a dedicated group of people in support of the largest soccer tournament in the midwest.
For the record, this year’s field will consist of nearly 800 teams and 1285 of games played at 56 fields 0n six venues Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The athletic trainers from Oakwood Sports Medicine will provide on-site medical services for the thousands (over 10,000) of participants this year.

Canton Cup Is Here!

Memorial Day weekend means the beginning of the summer season with BBQ’s, boating and enjoying the great outdoors. It also marks the 28th annual Canton Cup Soccer Tournament featuring Elite, Premier, Select and Recreational players from the midwest. Last year the tournament hosted over 570 teams! The tournament runs Friday – Sunday and will be played at Independence, Heritage, Flodin, Griffin and PCCS fields.
